Toystation visit and finds

Today is a shopping day. Last stop was toystation. Lazy to press on iPhone so more pics less talk.

Interesting that they now stock nanoblocks.

Blogged via iPhone4 🙂

Cheerleader MiniFig .. hard to find .. found my Black Ninjas at some TRU & got myself a White Lady Ninja, too (abt 1 week ago).

oh yes .. forgot to say Thank You Very Much for the intro to S0937 …

No prob on intro. Always happy to ‘poison’ ppl more deeply. Haha.

I believe the TRU truck will make it’s way into SG sooner or later. Just need to be patient and wait a bit. If not, there’s always Borderlinx. (^_^) But yeah, appreciate a ping if you do see it in TRU. TIA!

Imperial Flagship has been out for a while at most Lego specialty stores e.g. BW, TH and even ST. The standard member discounts at those stores apply.

Nope, did not go to TS on Friday. Hmm… cya at some forum outing? Or at the next sales, if you spot someone standing distractedly over a pile of lego n pressing away on an iPhone 4, that would be me. (^_^)

OG Orchard is selling the Nanoblock, but I didn’t check whether the 20% offer applies for Nanoblock.

    Hi there,

Am AFOL from Malaysia. If you can squeeze some time to visit Robinsons The Centrepoint, do checkout whether the Windmill Transport 7747 is still available. Bought there at SGD59.90 last May and I am still eying for another set or 2 ! XD Planning to come down south again this Sept / Oct. Really appreciate if you could help. Thanks in advance 🙂

Victor – Metro Causeway Point is doing a clearance of some lego sets now – saw the Windmill Transport going for 69.90. They’ve got quite a number of sets, but not sure how long the clearance will be.

    • amodularlife says:

Hi Victor, I had a look at Robinsons Raffles City and no more Windmill Transport. I think the price of S$59.90 is fairly exceptional. Sets at S$69.90 are still available though at BW and other specialty stores (for now…).

Actually TS have 2 boxes shuttles n a box of imperial landing craft on display but i took one each when i was there on thursday.. 😀

  5. amodularlife says:

KW: I think the 20% doesn’t apply to Nanoblocks.

Victor: If you are only coming down in September (or even October), it’s way too soon to ask. Stocks can move fairly quickly. Try asking a week or two before. S$69.90 is the standard price for that set in SG. An easy way to check is to call the stores when you are in SG and ask/reserve before going down since you already know which set/s you want. The telephone numbers can be found in this post:

Discman: Congrats on the buys. Did you have fun building this weekend? Btw Ricky may have some more stocks in his storeroom so you can politely ask if you would like to have certain sets. E.g. when he brought in the Emerald Night Train, he had a fair bit in the storeroom although there may be only 1 or 2 on display.

  6. amodularlife says:

Discman: Do get the set. It’s a great looking train. If you don’t and the set runs out, you may regret…

KW: Without motor. You may have to ship that in… that’s what I did anyway.

Any idea how much is the cost of nanoblocks and the designs available at toystation? Thanks

    • amodularlife says:

Apart from the stuff in the display box, the small packs for animals are available as well. None of the huge sets like Himeji castle nor the general box sets available.

I don’t really keep track of prices and I don’t think the retailers will really appreciate having their prices published so I try not to post unless it’s all out in public websites. Pls try calling up the store directly k?

i am thinking of getting the Lego Taj Mahal set but i don’t know how to go about getting it, is it available in the department stores? or only at Toystation?

    would appreciate any help/advice!! thanks!!

    • amodularlife says:

It’s only at Lego specialty stores that means bricksworld, toystation, ToysHunt etc. Not sure where else has the set now apart from ts. Think demand went thru the roof after beckham said he likes it. Used to be slightly over 500 but now it’s about 20% more.

      • Hon says:

        Hi mel,

I’ve been to a few of the stores recently and only found the Taj Mahal available at TS. Only saw 1 set on display and priced at $650.

You can buy the set on via since does not ship toys directly to Singapore. Do take note that the price stated includes shipping but only allows for up to 5kg. An item as huge as the Taj Mahal set will definitely exceed 5kg. I assume you’ll have to pay an additional S$50 approximately for the shipping, giving a total of around S$550. I remembered that the retail price of the set was around $580 when it was 1st available in Singapore, so buying via Tarazz is still a cheaper alternative.

Even though the shipping may be higher compared to others, I find the service provided by Tarazz quite good. The staff will contact you to inform you if the item exceeds 5kg and check with you if you still wish to proceed by topping up for the shipping. If you don’t wish to proceed, they’ll credit the amount back to your account. They’ll also give you a call to arrange for a date and time for delivery. There are no other costs involved, so you don’t have to worry about paying for GST if the item exceeds $400.

My son is asking for any lego set that includes Captain Rex for Xmas. He told me that the set #7869 (Battle for Geonosis) has Captain Rex. Do you have stock of this? Or can you recommend any other sets that includes Captain Rex? Thanks.
    – Jacqueline

    • Nick says:

@ Jacqueline: I don’t think owner of this blog sells Lego… it would be a better idea to check out the links that the blogger has provided to the various Lego retailers in Singapore, and call them up to ask. (It’s on the right side of the blog, labelled “LEGO Stores in Singapore”).

It would also be a good idea to read what the blogger is posting before actually asking.

On any other sets that might include Captain Rex, why not try checking out instead? After all, they are the manufacturers and would know their products best!
