Should I be excited about this? Strangely I am not… the minis just don’t measure up to their ‘big bros’ IMO. But let’s not underestimate the marketing powers of Jamie Berard… after viewing the video I’ve turned around abit and definitely want one.
And what is this nonsense about being available to VIP members?? Over in Asia we have no such programme (yep, we are a neglected bunch) so I hope that means the usual sales via LEGO exclusive stores.

Why do i have a feeling that somehow Lego going to re-release the older sets again ? Whatever it is, I am definitely getting a few of those and have already started poisoning my friends & they are SOLD !!! hahahahahahahahaha … (evil grin) …..
@Jonathan: U r turning to the dark side…
On the other hand, I have a feeling this new ‘mini’ series may be a ploy to entice more newbies into the modular poison.
I am in the Dark Side & the Force is strong within me … it’s time to have more apprentice … don’t you think so ..
you might be right hehe, usually I am not a fan myself of this modular series, but this small building set is quite tempting…..
I definitely would want one of this! Any idea when they are releasing it? Maybe can get through some folks on bricklink
@Brick Will: You are not a fan of the modulars?? How can you not be? On the other hand if you get started on the minis… there is hope yet! 😀
I’m really getting them for the kick of putting them with the ‘big bros’. Otherwise the build/looks are not very exciting to me. I’ll rather get a real modular set to play with.
@walsh klien: Supposed to be a 2012 exclusive.
great something to look forward to in 2012… but I’m thinking I may see whether there’s PDF instructions online and perhaps get parts from Bricklink not sure if it would be cheaper =)
Well, am not too excited about this miniset as well… It’s a cute set, but to be honest the build seems a little sloppy (e.g the Lego skeleton legs used as the hotel decor sticks out too much…), a little gimmicky and only is relevant to people who are fans of the modular series.
To be honest, am not really a fan of the modulars too. I do own Green Grocer and am eyeing on Pet Shop, but apart from those two buildings, nothing else seems to catch my eye as an exciting build.
And yeah, let’s hope Lego doesn’t get into the habit of releasing things for VIP members.
