Master of invisibility

More on cheerleaders, I thought this was really funny, and love the little details like the bar of soap dropped on the floor.  If you’ll like to comment, do drop by by DARKspawn‘s flickr account.

OMG I’m so jealous!

Why am I jealous? Cos VerSen from Eurobricks has managed to amass 28 cheerleaders, and formed his squad… they look gorgeous don’t they?  So which hairstyle do you like best?

Update on Collectible Minifigs (8683) at Bricksworld

Update: Only 8 boxes left at PS BW when I went to collect my box at around 7.30 pm.  Minifigs have also arrived in Toyshunt and likely Secret Chamber (since they are only supplied to the Lego exclusive stores).  Anyone have news and can update via comments?

*******************************

I was at Plaza Singapura Bricksworld during lunch.  Deliveries were being unpacked and I heard they are next headed to Takashimaya so both outlets should have all the July sets by the time you read this.

Of most interest might be the status of the Collectible Minifig series 1 (8683).  I only saw 16 boxes in PS BW… (and only 15 left after I left!).  Yep, really really limited stock so better head down asap if you want to get hold of the minifigs.  No loose packs this time round due to the limited supply.  So you either get one entire box, or nothing.

Interestingly the boxes look like they were tampered with cos the seals were cut, and re-sealed.  I opened the box I bought on the spot and no change to the minifig composition tho.  So I got:

4 Cavemen
3 Cheerleaders
3 Circus Clowns
4 Cowboys
5 Deep Sea Divers
5 Demolition Dummies
4 Forestmen
4 Magicians
5 Ninja
3 Nurses
4 Robots
3 Skaters
4 Spacemen
3 Super Wrestler
3 Zombies

New sets & keychains plus more pics of Series 2 Minifigs

A couple of new sets from Brickset:

I haven’t mentioned that I collect Lego keychains, but I do and have a fairly large collection (100-ish?).   If you collect keychains as well, new keychains for Lego Kingdoms are on Brickset: 852958 (King) & 852911 (Jester)

Seems like TLG is heeding the call for more female minifigs cos a new magnet set will be out soon, with  Dyna-Mite (Agents), the Pirate female (fairly generic female pirate with eye patch), and a mixed POP Princess Tamina hair with Pink shirt and white pants (from one of the female keychain sets).  It’s 852948 and refer to Brickset for more info.

.

Another new magnet set for the Star Wars series includes the pretty Barriss, so it’s a great opportunity for SW fans to get hold of the minifig without shelling out for the TRU exclusive set 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder.  As usual, click on link to Brickset: 852947

A German website has new pics of the Series 2 8684 minifigs:  Link

After looking at the new pics, I think the Karate kid is great with the little gold lego ‘oscar’ award.  I suppose it’ll be fun to create an entire karate class… The surfer dud is also nicer than I initially thought.  I just like the overall look (bod, haha)…

Lego Minifig Series 2 (8684)

I was just curious about the next series of collectible minifigs and a quick search turned this out:

  • Spartan – with spear and shield
  • Life guard – with rescue buoy
  • Witch – with broom
  • Pop Star – with microphone
  • Weight lifter – with weight barrel
  • Ring master – with stick
  • Jungle Explorer – with magnifying glass and telescope
  • Karate kid – with trophy
  • Surfer – Beach Boy with surf board
  • Egyptian – with scepter
  • Dracula – with bat
  • Traffic cop – with ticket and handcuffs
  • Mime artist – with 3 changeable masks
  • Skier – with ski and sticks
  • Disco Stu – with an afro hairstyle and a LP
  • (descriptions from Brickipedia: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/8684_Minifigures_Series_2)

    Heard it’s due out in September.

    Personally, I’m looking forward to the Mime and the “Pam Anderson” lookalike… and I think the Spartan will be highly sought after by army builders.  Surfer dude’s torso will offer some nice possibilities to mod as well.

    So which is your favourite?

    Lego shopping in Singapore

    Updated on 1 Dec 2010: Added Gifts Greeting at Nex.  (Thanks to Shaun!)  Also added Secret Chamber @ Parkway Parade & Gifts Greeting at Great World City.

    Updated on 24 May 2010: Added info on where to buy custom Lego weapons for your minifigs.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    These are some shops I know of in Singapore.   During non-sales period, I prefer Toy Station, for the simple reason that they give regular discount of at least 15% over the standard price and also carry various lifestyle products.
    During sales, discounts usually go up to 20%.  At department stores (such as Metro, Takashimaya & Tangs), you may get additional rebates if you have their member/credit/store cards).
    Store member privileges are also mentioned below, to the best of my knowledge.
    Enjoy shopping!
    Update 29 Apr 2010: Please bear with the lousy formatting while I try to figure out the template. Some colours added to store names.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    For the benefit of visitors to Singapore, some transportation information is also listed, though taking taxi is probably the easiest and fastest way.  I usually drive, so I do not know how to use public transportation for the rest.

    Lego is generally not cheap in Singapore, not compared to USA and especially not for limited or exclusive sets.   However compared to nearby countries like Malaysia and Indonesia, the prices here are much cheaper (based on my personal shopping experiences in those countries).
