Some Recent MOCs I Like

Bethany by retinence

I hope this doesn’t make me sound creepy but she’s feminine and attractive… the curves, the corset, the little ribbon on her head… 😛

From the same builder who gave us the lovely Seahorses a few posts back btw.

Unnamed by zgrredek

The curved facade caught my eye. Not an easy technique I think.

This is probably useful to give some context, as copied from his Flickr text: “the years 1982-1990 were a period of partial prohibition in Poland, with alcohol being sold from 1 p.m. onwards.”

Tipoca Outpost 930 by ACPin

The outpost 930 juts out on one of the exterior structures on stilts from Tipoca city. Clone troopers man the various installations similar to outpost 930 as part of their training. Clone pilots also hone their skills with the V-Wings in landing and take-off from the platform amidst the turbulent seas of Kamino.”  Full gallery of pics available.

Edisons Bane’s Steam Train by V&A Steamworks

I’m not really a train person,, but the use of POP parts really gives it an oriental fantasy feel that I like. 🙂

Eggplants Chateau 3  by Eggy Pop

I actually like the use of old bricks that gives the MOC an ‘aged’ feel.  The waves at the bottom of the round tower are also very nicely done.

Modular Police Station & Amazing Lego Street

This MOC by Johan_vd_Heuvel (Teddy) features great interiors. Really good reference for the Police HQ MOC I am still working on tho I don’t think I’ll be doing much interiors. 😛

What really caught my attention though is his Lego street. You don’t often see Lego creations that makes the Lego Modular series look lousy in comparison but I think Johan’s creations top those. Judge for yourself:

A Couple of MOCs I Like

Sandworm  by Wojciech Scrat shows that you don’t have to think big to have a nice MOC.  Any Dune fans reading this?

The Rocket by Kris_Kelvin has some interesting techniques like the tiles wrapped around the engine.

CapricaCityE By El Barto! even uses a brick separator to make a skyscraper…

Color Impact  By pirate_cat is just funny. Great use of the mime and basic bricks.

Time Storm By darkblne is another example of how the collectible minifig series has inspired more creativity.

Fabuland Double Decker Bus By Brickbaron is just great.  I have a soft spot for Fabuland creations… ahhh the simple days…

USS Intrepid by Lego Monster & His Missus

I haven’t felt the urge to feature any MOCs for the past few days… more cos of work stress rather than lack of nice MOCs I think, but the USS Intrepid by Lego Monster and his Missus was just too jaw-dropping to ignore.

It fills their entire conservatory… I can’t even imagine how many bricks it took.  More pictures in his “Project Intrepid” set.  In his words…

The USS Intrepid is an Essex Class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy (USN). She is currently berthed in New York and serves as a museum, but had an operational life in the USN spanning over 20 years.
When complete, this model will depict the USS Intrepid as she appeared in February 1945, immediately after her second major refit.
The model will be to minifig scale (I have chosen a scale of 1 in 40) making the final model 6.8m or 23ft.

Brick Fan Town 2008

I know, I’ve mentioned how wonderful the creations are before, but given the number of amazing creations, I think another post isn’t too much…

Just had to share this amazing pic I found from Brick Fan Town:

I just randomly clicked on the links (all in Japanese) and got lucky.

Btw if you go to Japan, found some instructions on how to get to Nasu Highland Park from CNNGo:

Fantasy Pointe Nasu Highland

Ride the Monorail to Fish in a Fake Lake: Fantasy Pointe Nasu HighlandBuilt onto the south side of Mt Chausu — an active Volcano in Nasu — Fantasy Pointe Nasu Highland features a pedal-powered monorail, a fake lake which you can fish in, and a set of matching roller coasters. The coloring of the entire park is impeccable, stark white contrasts against blue, green, yellow and purple. It all looks art-directed by a Swiss modernist on psychotropics. There are nine coasters in total, many built by Japanese coaster manufacturer Meisho, the most enjoyable of which is Big Boom, providing a nice moment of weightlessness as it goes vertical. Child-friendly exhibits are plentiful, including a whole pavilion dedicated to Lego. Afterwards you can retire by fishing in a man-made lake before cooking your catch on a nearby barbecue.

How to get there: Tohoku JR line to Kuroiso station and catch a bus to Nasu Highland.

Lego Dollhouse Interiors

I saw the wonderful interiors by Brixe63 last month, but the sheer number of pictures daunted me from blogging about it… ya… *cough*.  Anyway saw Heather LEGOgirl‘s awesome dollhouse yesterday and thought this was a good opprtunity to make up for not blogging earlier.

If you ever need references for dollhouse interiors (or a model of your house), I think between these 2 ladies they pretty much got every room covered (including a Lego room!).

The pics I have here only represent a fraction of the rooms done up (94 pics by Brix63 & 21 by Heather LEGOgirl), so do pop by their Flickr accounts for more.

Seahorses

This pair of lovely seahorses were built in just 3-3.5 hours by retinence.  Some people are just talented, obviously.
